Why Schools

Design and technology shape every digital experience students interact with daily, yet most have never met someone who builds these products. The gap between users and creators is wide, and schools rarely bridge it.

I wanted to show students what product design actually looks like, not the polished Dribbble version, but the real process of understanding people, defining problems, and building solutions.

The Sessions

Each intervention was adapted to the audience, from middle school students discovering design for the first time, to high schoolers considering creative careers. The format mixed presentation with hands-on exercises.

The AI section was always the most engaging. Students experimented with AI tools live, discovering both their capabilities and limitations. The goal was to build critical thinking about AI, not just excitement.

Takeaways

The most rewarding moments were when students realized that design isn't just about making things look good, it's about solving real problems for real people. Several students reached out afterward to learn more about design careers, which was the whole point.
